Beijing Tong Ren Tang

Beijing Tong Ren Tang, a renowned Chinese pharmaceutical company established in 1669, is the largest producer of traditional Chinese medicine. We are excited to unveil a brand new design concept for their flagship outlet in Central, Hong Kong, aimed at modernizing their aesthetic while honouring their rich heritage.

Our approach involves a thoughtful reinterpretation of their traditional design, which has long been inspired by the grandeur of the Beijing Imperial Palace. By blending elegance with contemporary elements, we seek to contemporarise the brand while paying tribute to its history as the exclusive supplier of herbal medicines to the imperial court in the 1700s.

Key features of our design include a reimagined display cabinet showcasing some of the brand’s most prestigious and rare products, along with the iconic herbal medicine drawers that are integral to their daily operations of their on site Chinese medicine clinic. Additionally, we reorganize the store layout to enhance the overall customer experience, creating a space that is both inviting and reflective of its storied past.
